I have been a reading machine as of late. I read Stephen King's 11/22/63, all 3 books of the Hunger Games and now I am finishing The Art of Fielding before I start a new book TBA for Book Club. I have really only had time to accomplish this much "reading" because I have been setting my Kindle to Text-to-Speech while I drive my hour commute to and from work each day. It is a wonderful change of pace from listening to music (the same songs every day for two hours really gets old) and it helps keep me from road rage which is pretty huge for me. Don't worry I still think other drivers are stupid... I just don't think about it as much since I have a story to concentrate on.
Anyway when my Kindle "reads" to me it isn't an Audio book it is just a computer reading the words. It doesn't really acknowledge any punctuation, nor does it pause between chapters; so really it sounds like one big run on sentence but once you get the rhythm and move past the monotone voice you end up just as engrossed as if you were reading it to yourself.
One thing that has stood out to me is the crazy amount of heteronyms the English language has. For those of you who are linguistic specialist a heteronyms are words that are written identically but have different pronunciations and meanings. So for example: live (to have life) and live (to be alive). These two words are spelled exactly the same but pronounced differently AND have a different meaning. This is something my Kindle NEVER gets right but that when I would read a sentence on my own I wouldn't think twice about which word I should read.

Feeling Behind
Last week I felt as if I didn't have much to say and I was so busy and overwhelmed with life that I guess I didn't have time anyway but now I feel like I am behind and I have too much to share for one post.
First item I have been meaning to share it my first attempt at edge binding. I decided to sew a kitchen towel because it is fairly small therefore inexpensive and will get dirty and ruined eventually so I figured it was a great solution for trying something new that I figured to be a challenge. Well apparently I underestimated that challenge because in the end I didn't make a kitchen towel I made a baby burp rag. LOL seriously I did, which isn't helpful at all to me but it has now inspired me to create a "hope chest" of sorts for a future kiddo cause I can't give it away since my edging is terrible. Well here are the picture to prove my sewing mishap.
Here is an example of my binding completely missing the edge of the "towel"

A mixed bag
I was trying to decide what to talk about today since the norm on Friday's is for me to find my subjects within the fill in the blank questions. This week, however, no questions were provided as the gal who usually starts the blanks had a baby this week and has been a bit preoccupied with being a new Mommy. So I thought maybe I would create my own blanks to fill in this week but as I tried to brainstorm a few my thoughts kept circling around what I week this has been.
To start my heart has been aching and praying for several of my friends as they have been in the hospital for different health reasons with their Dad's.
On the opposite side one friends found out she is pregnant and another friend had her baby this week. Doesn't life always seem to circle this way. Just when your shouldering the weight of burdens for one you are rejoicing in celebration with another. Sometimes the emotional roller coaster is too much for me though. Not for any particular reason but I think simply because it is hard for me to wrap my mind around it.
Work has been ridiculously busy and emotionally and physically draining this week leaving me exhausted every day but every evening this week I've come home to fun plans with friends and wonderful fellowship that is rejuvenating (except that I've been staying up way too late - but never mind that).
It's the juxtaposition that gets me. And that I am thankful for.
Two goals I have for the weekend are enjoy the nice weather we are supposed to have and try to cut my glass bottles with fire and water!
Something from this week that was surprising seeing my brother as the "poster boy" (though he said I was to call him the Posterman like Superman) for a rock climbing FB page. http://www.facebook.com/ClimbPOB The profile pic is my brother.

So here are the questions after all:

ummm well those are all the questions I can think of right now... I'm not very good at coming up with these kind of questions. So if you can think of a question for me that you want answered leave a comment! :)

Fill it in and Make it Up!
Wow this weekend was super busy! We celebrated my hubby's 31st birthday on Friday and the weekend was non-stop from there. Friday I spent the day prepping the house and food for the party (I will post pictures soon) but this meant I didn't have time for my Friday fill in the blanks post.
So as usual I am playing catch up and going with Make it Up Monday :)
The last thing I ate was TLC breakfast bar, that's pretty much what I eat on the way to work everyday.
The last song I listened to was Norah Jones Come Away with Me
Using the letters in my name I can spell strangest question ever... but let's go with it. {Constance}... stance, ace, cent, not, case, one, none, cant, case, cast, once, con,... I don't know probably more but I don't have time for this heehee
If I had to dress in one color for the rest of my life I would pick black. Maybe boring but you can dress up or down in black, it is slimming, it can have an "artistic" feel.
If you were to look in my bag right now you'd find my Kindle, ear buds, sales tax payment to mail out today, wallet, receipts, lotion, makeup bag, sunglasses, lip gloss, comb/pick, (I'm actually traveling pretty light today).
When I finish filling in the blanks I'm going to work. ;)
My all time favorite song to dance to is I'm not really sure of an exact song but I know it would be a country song and it would probably be a fairly fast one. I love two-stepping with my honey.... even though we haven't gone it forever.
Hope you all had a good weekend.

A four letter word!
We have been having a lot of fun posts the last couple of months so much fun I have hardly spent any time with you "being real", not ever faking who I am, is my desire is in this blog - to keep it real. But I truly have been enjoying the fun moments and sharing my hopes for the future and then this week all of the sudden I have been hit, almost felt blindsided, by my own selfish heart.
Envy... a four letter word figuratively and literally ...

Filling it In {Friday} Free Time
It's interesting to me that today's blanks all have to do with "free time". As I read the questions I realized that I first better define what I believe free time is.
I think free time is when I don't have a specific task or responsibillity that needs to be accomplished at that time.

New Stockings!
I finally finished our new stockings. I meant to do these before Christmas of course but life happens and I never got around to actually cutting out the fabric to make them. But I really wanted them made before I put up the Christmas decor so I could pull them out next year ready to go.
So without further ado.... here is the finished products.
now for a tree skirt...
