Homemade&Save - Lil' more Social - A Hodge Podge

Well I can't really believe how quickly January has flown by.  Not that I mind.  I am always ready for the cold weather to get a move on outta here.  We still have to endure February which generally proves to be cold but I'll happily endure if it kills some of those pesky mosquitoes from last year.

I haven't blogged in awhile I suppose that's because I haven't thought I had much to say other than complaining.

But we did celebrate Phil's birthday by a trip to WinStar Casino and he bought a remote control helicopter to celebrate 32 :)

I have been working on little projects and have some new ideas in mind but I have nothing completed and what I have done I didn't document.  LOL bad blogger bad.

My friend and I made a batch of homemade laundry detergent.  We used the Duggar's Family Recipe! It's pretty amazing really. 4 cups of water, 1 soap bar, 1 cup of Washing Soap, ½ Cup of Borax, and a few drops of essential oils for good smellem's can mix with a bunch of water and make 10 GALLONS of laundry detergent. We split it between the two of us and that's 5 gallons each which with our top load washers is approx. 90 loads each. for a shear fraction of what store bough costs.  Speaking of store bought, I would get a $10.77 for 1.2 Gallons which would last me about 45 loads.  In comparison to make our 10 Gallons cost us about $5 and we have plenty of everything except the Naptha bar - $0.97 (which we used all of) to make many many more gallons.  the essential oil is the most expensive purchase and is optional but you only use a few drops so there is TONS left over.

Next homemade cleaning agent project is dishwasher detergent.  It has similar ingredients as the laundry detergents, so I already have those.  I'll let you know how that turns out.

Oh and I have liked the laundry detergent.  I haven't noticed any difference comparability in my clothing cleanness. I still use a dryer sheet (which I guess I really don't need to) but I like it.  Maybe I'll make a homemade one of those next ;)  LOL.  Oh and yes you still need to pretreat any stains (this isn't miracle juice - just laundry soup).

another topic:  I have been sucked into a new social app.  I know I know.... do we really need another.  Well that's what I thought but the thing is I really love Instagram and this new app is like Instagram but it is for videos. Very short videos!  Like a little snippet of your life.  So this app is called Vine.

Here are two videos I've posted so far.  The best part is in the app they play on repeat so it is really kind of funny to watch.
Good morning must have.

So hungry!

So that's it.  Anyway, you should get it and find me Constance Ray
See I need more people to follow and following me ;)
